Check back this fall for details on our 2023 Christmas Concert!
Join us May 5 at 7:30pm or May 6 at 2:00pm for a wonderful selection of dance music played by our full orchestra. You’ll enjoy familiar pieces from ballet, folk, tap and more and will be pleasantly surprised by new music, too, like the fun Monsters Under the Bed (say no more!). Tickets are available on our Tickets page starting March 15. If we don’t sell out, we will have remaining tickets for sale at the door. Follow us on Facebook to keep up with our ticket sales. It’s also where you’ll let us know if something has come up and you can no longer use the tickets you bought online - our fantastic followers (which we hope includes you!) might be able to take those tickets from you. Visit our Concerts page for more information and our Tickets page to come to one of our concerts. We’ll be glad to see you there!
Are you a musician?
Our orchestra is fully staffed for this concert but we are always glad to meet new players so if you would like to play with us, please visit our Join the Orchestra page for more information.
We're always happy to include non-player volunteers who love music and would like to meet everyone in the orchestra. Currently we are looking to fill the following volunteer positions:
• concert setup crew
• social media & publicity coordinator
The Thompson Valley Orchestra was founded in 1997 by Music Director Norris Berg and a group of just 12 string players. Now, more than two decades later, the TVO has grown to more than 50 musicians with all instrument sections well represented. Our musicians range from high school students to seniors, some of whom have played for decades. Together, the orchestra members practice and rehearse with a common goal of creating high quality musical programming to share with the community.
The orchestra’s repertoire includes a variety of musical styles from classics to musical theatre and pops. The TVO presents three concerts a year in Kamloops and also performs outreach concerts at local seniors’ care homes. We enjoy working with guest musicians, particularly local schools, choirs, and small ensembles. Concerts and weekly rehearsals are held at Kamloops Full Gospel Tabernacle.
We hope you will join us at our next concert!
