Due to Pandemic related factors, venue availability, and the unexpected passing of our music director, Don Bennett, the TVO board has made the decision to postpone all formal rehearsal activity until January 2021. We will be looking into our future options as the fall continues. Our hope is to conduct safe sectional rehearsals in the new year! The TVO society remains in good financial shape, and we hope all players are keeping up their playing skills!
The Thompson Valley Orchestra (TVO) was founded in 1997 by Music Director, Norris Berg, together with a small group of 12 string players. More than 20 years later, the TVO has grown to 50+ musicians with all instrument sections well represented. The musicians range from high school students to seniors—some of whom have played for decades. Together, the orchestra members practice and rehearse with a common goal of creating high quality musical programming to share with the community.
The orchestra’s repertoire includes a variety of musical styles from classics to musical theatre and pops. The TVO presents three concerts a year in Kamloops and also performs outreach concerts at local seniors’ care homes. We enjoy working with guest musicians, particularly local schools, choirs, and small ensembles. Concerts and weekly rehearsals are held at Kamloops Full Gospel Tabernacle.
We hope you will join us at our next concert!
Thompson Valley Orchestra is a registered, not-for-profit organization that is operated by a volunteer, Board of Directors. The current Board of Directors includes:
